Quazar has been at the forefront of the Amsterdam house and technoscene since it’s first release ‘Seven stars/Day glo’ on the Go Bang! label (1990). After 21 years the group is still around, although nowadays Quazar live gigs are quite rare. This year the duo (GMG and Jobez) only played on a small selection of gigs, most notably on the Stubnitz boat, in Studio 80 and on several festivals, like Spirit of Burgas in Bulgary. At the moment frontman Gert van Veen divides his time between producing new tracks and jamming with the 6-piece Amsterdam 661 (MG, Kabale Und Liebe, Lauhaus, David Labeij, Julien Chaptal and Boris Werner). Also Van Veen is organiser of the Welcome to the Future open air festival (in cooperation with ID&T) and navigator of the best underground club in Amsterdam. Studio 80.
